The hunt for a climbing captain

I am not a smart man.

With a few decent acquisitions, I guided my team relatively painlessly through Divisions 11, 10, 9, 8, 7 and 6, with little stopping Hub City Cycling's rise. Why would Division 5 be any different?

  Whoops.

My four Division 5 races (all on preferred mountainous terrain): One seventh-place finish (good for $4,000 if I remember right), and three complete zeroes.

This has led me to a couple conclusions:

  1. Things get "real" at Division 5, where there are fewer "one-trick pony" teams (AKA teams with one, or maybe two, legit good riders but a bunch of filler for depth).

  2. Those jobs riders get on the economy page might actually be needed.

  3. I need a climbing captain. A squad of six guys with climbing scores between 160-180, without a 200-plus leader, isn't cutting it.

All I want for Christmas is a mountain goat.

So the hunt is on. I thought I had the right guy in Antonio Ricci last year, but he decided an AV of 37 was his peak. (I still hate you, Antonio. It's not personal. OK, the voodoo doll full of needles says it's personal.)

USA: I'm looking for a better pure climber, as I don't know if I will be in a lot of tours any time soon.

Nikoline: I don't have the money to bid for him.

Edgardo Aguilar, if he goes well; could become a GT king

Nikoline at 16:18 5/1-2019
  Maybe this guy?

Perfect post! That‘s the way it is for new teams!
Recently I was in the same situation, what‘s also possible is to bring the beginning CPs in TF. I was able to get results then. But I see none of these riders is TF ready :-(
Hope you find a „real“ CP soon, good luck!!
